Becoming a Devon wedding photographer
I started working for Emily Fleur Photography 2 months ago and my gosh that time has flown! I have been on many different photoshoots alongside Emily and some of these being weddings. I felt a bit nervous about photographing weddings as I have only ever been to a handful so I had a lot to learn!
There’s something about photographing weddings in Devon, I think it’s because of the stunning scenery and beautiful locations we have here. To me weddings are one of the biggest and specialist days of your life. There’s just such a great buzz of happiness on that day. When you see the grooms face when the bride walks down the aisle, the happiness on family and friends faces, the joy and laughter everyone is having. Capturing these moments is just exhilarating.
I photographed my first wedding alongside side Emily when people could have up to 15 guests this was at Brentor Church, what a lovely location to have a wedding right in the middle of Dartmoor no wonder why walking boots were required for that wedding! I then photographed another 3 alongside Emily and these weddings had up to 30 guests. These were at the Horn of Plenty, Mill End at Chagford and Gidleigh Park at Chagford another 3 stunning locations in Devon. I knew I would be photographing weddings with up to 300 guests so this amount of people was a great way to start easing me in without being thrown into the deep end!
It has been great photographing these weddings alongside Emily, watching what she does and how she takes her photographs as a Devon Photographer, getting to know how the days go. I feel I have learnt so much already!
I can’t wait to photograph some more alongside Emily and on my own one day!
