The Davis Family

I love pretty much all types of photography, however being a farmer’s daughter, has meant that any chance I get to photograph farming or agriculture I get rather excited by. Since starting my photography business in 2012, the fact I am a Devon Young Farmers’ club member has played a huge part in my photography journey. I have been privileged to meet so many young farmers and had the opportunity to photograph many of them and their families. I’ve become good friends with some of the families I see often. The Davis family who have a dairy farm near Cullompton, Devon are certainly a family I’d have a big album of photos for. They’re the most lovely and kind family, which has lead to them being invited to every wedding going (so I get the chance to photograph them a lot!)

In May I went out to photograph them twice and it was a wonderful chance for me to get stuck into the photography I truly have a passion for. The dairy industry is a contentious one, many have their views on how it should be done (me included). It was brilliant to see a farm that has the love for the animals as well as the quality of their produce at the heart of what they do.

Below are a few photos I quite like from my time there…

An early morning start…

Getting the cows in from the field to be milked.
